Plymouth Burn Facility operates within the Derriford Hospital Plastic Surgery Department and treats over 500 patients a year with minor burns from Cornwall and Devon. The majority do not require in-hospital stay.
The Facility provides services to adult and paediatric patients, with paediatric outreach nurse support provided by SWUK Childrens Burn Service. Moderate and major burns are transferred to the Bristol Children’s Burn Centre.
The team of surgeons, nurse and therapist are experienced in minor burn care and aim to provide best quality care for our patients.
They also provide burn teaching sessions in local A&E departments.
Tele-referrals accepted by the Plymouth Burns Facility (Always ring the service as well).
Further information about tele-medicine system can be found on the Tele-referral page.
