The South West Burns Network Board has established a number of Specialist Interest Groups (SIGs) to provide expert advice to the Board on matters related to a particular specialty. Each SIG develops a project-based yearly work programme, bringing together specialist staff from each of the Burns Services to provide a forum for discussion on service developments, sharing best practice and taking forward specific actions related to the Network’s Work Programme.
The groups also provide an opportunity for peer support, shared learning and opportunity to ensure consistency in the standards and delivery of care across the Network.
Each SIG has a nominated Lead who sits on the Network Board and provides a written quarterly report to the Board.
